Cremation FAQ: Q. What types of cremation do you perform? A. The only type of cremation we perform is individual. Mass cremation nor disposal work are offered at SVPC. Q. If needed, can I get my pets cremains back within 24 hours? A. Same day or next day services are available. Q. What is involved in a cremation and how are the cremains returned? A. Cremation is a high intensity process that reduces a pet to its calcium based remains that are then packaged and sealed. When the cremains are ready to go home you will receive a call from our office. At that point you can: - Pick up the cremains from our office during business hours, - Have the cremains mailed (certified mail) back to your home or office, or - If you do not wish the cremains to be returned to you, we can place them at our scatter tree. Q. How long do I have to wait before I can pick up my pet's cremains? A. Unless requested otherwise, our individual cremation process takes 5-7 business days. Q. How do I know I'm really getting my pet's cremains back? A. We log and track your pet at every step of the process. Remains are never mixed up because all cremations are performed individually. Note: an optional "full viewing" service is also available for your cremation process. Q. Is it possible to view my pet's cremation? A. Yes, there are two viewing options available: - Partial viewing: you watch your pet being placed in the crematory and then return at the end of the day to pick up the cremains. - Full viewing: you are able to view the entire process from start to finish. |
