General FAQ:
Q. What happens if I do not choose a pet cemetery?
A. Without proactive choice, your pet's remains usually go out-of-the-area to a disposal
service for rendering or mass cremation.
Q. If my pet passes at home, how should I preserve it until the pet cemetery arrives for
pickup?
A. Please move your pet to a cool place away from insects or other predators. Cover
and/or wrap your pet with an old sheet or plastic.
Q. What should I do if my pet passes when the pet cemetery office is closed?
A. Please call our regular phone number; a live operator will take your contact information
and page our afterhours staff for a call back during our standard afterhours timeframe.
Once our employee calls, you can discuss your needs, the available services and any
arrangements in detail. Note: Afterhours service staff are available: Mon-Fri,
4:30pm-10pm and/or Sat-Sun, 7am-10pm.
Q. Can I bring my pet to the pet cemetery after normal office hours?
A. Yes, after-hour drop-offs can be arranged in advance during the following hours:
Mon-Fri, 4:30pm-10pm and/or Sat-Sun, 7am-10pm.
Q. What happens after my pet is picked up or dropped off at the pet cemetery?
A. Upon arrival the pet is weighed, ID tagged and placed in a cool storage until services are
performed.
Q. Is this a new pet cemetery, as I have never heard of you?
A. Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetery and Crematory has been in business since 1955 at the
same location. The pet cemetery's ownership has transferred only once and this owner has
been in place since 1978.
